Picnic Time For Tots

Little people find picnic time, with lots of yummy mini foods, such a special treat. So why not have one in your garden, local park or in your house? Our talented designers have crafted cupcake toppers, for you to create, to make your food look extra fantastic.

How To Make the Toppers

These delightful designs are based on some of our sensational organic cotton toys. Enjoy a fabulous party with your Meri Meri friends!

You Will Need:

• Printable card or paper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Thread
• 2 x skewers
• Cocktail sticks
• Pebbles or shells (optional)

Step 1:

Print the toppers onto card (or paper, which can be stuck onto card) and cut out with scissors. Each topper has a front and back.

Step 2:

For the characters and icons, glue the front and back together with a cocktail stick in the center and fold.

Step 3:

Gather up all the flags for the big cake bunting topper. Place all the bunting face down in a line on the table, apply glue and then place a length of thread all along the center of the bunting. Tie each end of the bunting to the skewers.

Step 4:

Decorate your cakes and sandwiches with the toppers.

Marvelous Picnic Food Ideas

It’s not just how food tastes, but how it looks too that will get everyone’s appetites going. Here are the mini meals we love that are perfect for picnics.

Fruit and Veg Nibbles

Top up their nutrient levels with little fruit and veg like radishes, cherry tomatoes, asparagus spears, cucumber and carrot crudites, crunchy mangetout and grapes. Serve all with delicious dips like hummus, tzatziki or natural yoghurt. Also try putting slices of watermelon onto wooden skewers, so they can be eaten like popsicles.

Lunch Kebabs

As a change to sandwiches, why not put all the ingredients onto little wooden skewers? Squares of bread, lunchmeat, cheese, lettuce, cherry tomatoes and pickles all work really well.

Sweet Treats

Finish with cupcakes, or a large cake cut into chunky slices, decorated with our colorful toppers to make everyone smile.

Savory Muffins

Pack them with veg and cheese. Here’s some tasty options.

Cheesy Flapjacks

Flapjacks aren’t just for dessert, they are scrumptious when made with cheese, carrots, nuts and seeds for a savory option. Check out this recipe.

Don’t forget napkins to clean those sticky little fingers! We’ve got an amazing range, with a wide choice of designs the kids will love. We also have a huge range of paper plates and cups to take on your picnic – lots of themes and colors to suit everyone.
